Another season is upon us and once again Catalonia will have five Barça Academy Perfeccionament Catalunya centres in operation. These training programmes are for sportspeople aged 5 to 14 years old, with the aim of conveying FC Barcelona’s values and methods throughout the autonomous community. They also give boys and girls the chance to train one day a week like FC Barcelona development and first team players, while continuing to train with their respective clubs. Recent seasons have seen more than ten players come through this scheme into the Club’s development football programme.

This 2022/23 season will see the official Barça Academy Perfeccionament centres located in Terres de l'Ebre (Amposta), Tarragona (La Pobla de Mafumet), Girona (Cornellà del Terri), Vallès (Ullastrell) and Lleida (Torrefarrera). In addition to the collective exercises, the 90-minute individual mastery classes will take place from October this year through to June 2023. They are scheduled for Monday afternoons at every centre, apart from Ullastrell where it will be on Wednesdays.

The training sessions are run by a group of Barça Escola trained coaches (FC Barcelona’s football school), and supervised by different coordinators. Those participating in the Barça Academy Perfeccionament programme will also be able to take part in a range of additional activities, such as get togethers with all five centres, friendly matches at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, as well as participating in the Barça Academy World Cup, which is held every Easter at FC Barcelona’s installations.

Open days
The new season will start on Monday 26 September with an open day at the centres in Tarragona, Terres de l’Ebre, Lleida and Girona, for all sportspeople who want to try out a session to see how it feels to train like a FC Barcelona player. The Vallès centre will start training sessions on Wednesday 5 October.
