The new academic year is about to begin, and Barça Academy wanted to get ahead of the return to school by unveiling the 2026/27 season of Barça Academy Football and the multi-sport Barça Academy at the Palau Blaugrana yesterday.

The event began with presentations outlining the latest developments at the Barça Academy Basketball, Handball and Futsal programmes. The ceremony was attended by Benny Megreli, Global Director of Barça Academy; Paco Díaz, Head of the Multi-Sport Barça Academy; Oriol Grau, Project Manager of the Multi-Sport Barça Academy; basketball school advisor and Barça legend Roberto Dueñas; Cristina Soriano, Basketball School Coordinator; Fran Tejado, Handball School Coordinator; and Artur Negro, Futsal School Coordinator.

The presentation of Barça Escola Football followed, with the attendance of Benny Megreli and Sergi Barjuán, Sporting Director of Barça Academy; Albert Mora, Project Manager of Barça Academy Barcelona; and the new Technical Director of Barça Academy Football, Jonathan Soriano, as well as coordinators Hipólito Rodríguez, Manel Guerrero and Javi Fernández.

During the event, Benny Megreli thanked the families for the trust they have placed in Barça Academy and for allowing their children to grow both as athletes and as individuals. He also highlighted the continuous improvements made year after year to ensure that the Barça Academy experience is the best it can be.

The event concluded with the Barça anthem being played over the public address system at the Palau Blaugrana.

Start on Monday

Training sessions for all of the Club's sports teams will begin on Monday, each at their respective venues. The football team will train at the Ciutat Esportiva, the basketball team at the German School of Barcelona (DSB), the handball team at the Arístides Maillol Municipal Sports Centre (CEM Arístides Maillol), and the futsal team at the INEFC Barcelona facilities.
