Ahmedabad is the first stop on Barça Academy’s return to India, staging a five-day football camp for boys and girls after the club announced back in March that it was returning to one of its most strategic markets. India is no stranger to Barça. The club has long enjoyed a sizeable footprint there, and the aim is clear: to take the Barça Academy experience nationwide and give youngsters across the country a taste of the club’s methodology and values.
The programme doesn’t end in Ahmedabad. Further camps are lined up in Bangalore, Mumbai, Gurgaon, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Participants won’t just train the Barça way, they’ll also open the door to other blaugrana experiences such as the annual Barça Academy World Cup, held every Easter at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, as well as regional tournaments like the APAC Cup and skills clinics in Barcelona itself.
With this latest expansion, Barça Academy now has a presence in more than 50 countries worldwide, sharing the style of play and core values that made FC Barcelona famous with more than 25,000 youngsters each year, across nearly 200 football camps around the globe.
