This coming August, a new Barça Academy will open in the United States, this time in Hoover, Alabama, the seventh in the country following those already established in Chicago, Austin, Carolina, Barça Residency Arizona, Barça Academy Pro New York, and Barça Academy Pro Miami. This makes the USA the country with the highest number of academies, followed by Japan with six. With this latest addition, Barça now has 30 football academies around the world: 10 in the Americas, 10 in Asia-Pacific, and 10 in Europe and the Middle East.

In its first season, the academy will welcome boys and girls aged between six and 12, with plans to expand up to age 18 in the following season. Training will take place at two locations (Riverchase Sports Park and the Hoover Metropolitan Complex) where participants will be able to hone their football skills in an environment shaped by the Barça style of play.

Barça Academy

The Barça Academy is FC Barcelona’s own football school model for boys and girls, with the primary goal of offering comprehensive development to its students. Now exported internationally, it seeks to expand the Barça brand and share the club’s training philosophy and values with the rest of the world.

The schools operate with a unique and proprietary model, based on the Barça methodology used from youth categories through to the first team. It features a creative, attacking style of play and places strong emphasis on core values: respect, humility, effort, ambition, and teamwork, all with a proven track record of success.

More than 80 clinics and 180 camps 

Barça Academy Clinics are training programmes for closed groups that offer participants the experience of feeling like a Barça player and enjoying the exclusive opportunity to train on FC Barcelona’s official facilities. This year, more than 80 clinics will be held. Additionally, Barça is present in 56 countries through its camps, which help to spread the Barça brand and transmit the club’s training philosophy and values worldwide.
