The Barça Legends are to travel to Tbilisi for another game featuring former players on 16 May, kick-off 7.00pm CET local time (5.00pm in Barcelona). This time the match will see the blaugranes play a selection of former Georgian players including Shota Arveladze, formerly of Ajax and Rangers, and Temur Ketsbaia, who played Newcastle, Wolves, and Dundee. Home to the country's most successful team in Dinamo Tbilisi, the 54,000 capacity Dinamo Arena will host the match.
The stadium has a special place in the Club's history, as it was where Barça won its fifth European Super Cup, with a close 5-4 triumph over Sevilla, with goals from Lionel Messi (2), Rafinha, Luis Suárez and Pedro. The Canary Island forward sealed the win for the Club five minutes before the end of extra-time of a match that could have gone either way. Javier Saviola and Gaizka Mendieta have already confirmed for the blaugranes, with the other members of the squad to be named in due course.
Who are the Barça Legends
Barça Legends is a Club-managed programme that was created in 2016 to integrate former Barça players into a permanent professional project with the Club to help spread the Barça brand and present the Club's values around the world. Over 80 players have participated in at least one match since Barça Legends began.
