A goal every 93 minutes for Ferran Torres

The forward's hat-trick against Valencia makes it 10 goals for the season and he is currently in seventh on the minutes per goal ratio metric across the five major European leagues

Ferran Torres is a man in form. The Spaniard is really showing he is an important player every time he takes to the pitch, and his hat-trick on Thursday against Valencia now makes it 10 goals in 25 games. As it stands and with almost half a season still to go, this is his third best return in terms of goals, equalling the 21/22 season, when he scored three goals for Manchester City and seven for Barça. If the forward keeps up this level of scoring, he is likely to better his best goalscoring season for the Club, when he scored 11 last season.

Quick-fire hat-trick

His great performance at the Mestalla stadium meant more than just three goals as it helped sealed passage through to the Copa del Rey semifinals. Scoring a hat-trick in such a short space of time (30 minutes) meant he entered the Club's goalscorer record books. It makes him the eighth quickest to score a hat-trick in Barça's history, just one minute longer than seventh-placed Leo Messi, who scored three goals in 29 minutes against Mallorca in October 2011. Ferran's three goals also mean he has scored the earliest hat-trick in a game for the Club this century.

Third hat-trick of his career

These three goals have added to Ferran's career tally and he now has three hat-tricks in games across all competitions in the five major European leagues. Two of those have come for Barça in just over a year, as the one before came against Real Betis in January 2024 at the Benito Villamarín stadium, while his first came for Manchester City in 2021.

A goal every 93 minutes

Among all footballers to have played at least 10 games, Ferran Torres is currently seventh on the list for best minutes per goal ratio this season. Barça's number seven scores a goal every 93 minutes, a ratio bettered by only six other players across the five major European leagues. These include Robert Lewandowski in fourth, who scores a goal every 85 minutes.
