Great turnout for football campus in the USA

More than 8,000 boys and girls take part in the event organised by the Barça Academy

The United States of America is a nation in which sport is a part of the culture and football is increasingly present in the everyday sporting calendar. More and more boys and girls are taking part in the world's most popular sport with the USA having hosted the World Cup back in 1996 and the country is scheduled to host the tournament again in 2026 alongside neighbours Canada and Mexico. 

FC Barcelona has seven Barça Academies in the USA, more than any other country outside Spain. One of the ways in which Barça have been spreading the sport of football throughout the continent has been through campus across the nation. This summer more than 63 football campus have been organised in which some 8,000 boys and girls are taking part. Cities such New York, Miami, Seattle, San Francisco, Portland, Denver, Atlanta, Washington, Boston, Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, Cincinnati, Minneapolis, Houston, Phoenix and Los Angeles are hosting the schools that allow the youngsters to learn how to play the game the Barça way. 

Record turnout in Seattle

The campus in Seattle brought together more than 500 potential footballers, the most numerous gathering of youngsters this summer. The Barça Pro Academies in Miami and New York have brought together more than 1,100 players who wish to improve their footballing skills under the watchful eye of the professional coaching staff who will fly in from Barcelona itself. .
