Barça followed up their win against Sporting CP, this time beating Saint-Omer, classifying for the Golden Cup quarterfinals as Group B winners at Riazor (4-2).

Nil Roca breaks the deadlock

With Barça facing a rival that has never beaten them, featuring captain Marçal Cuenca, trained at youth level by Edu Castro, the game began with the keepers taking centre stage to keep the scoreline 0-0.

After ten minutes, a Nil Roca long shot from a Nacho Alabart pass from behind the goal snuck into the goal to give Barça a 1-0 lead, before Matías Pascual and Pau Bargalló combined to make it 2-0 after 18 minutes. Then with only seven seconds remaining until the break, Pau Bargalló extended the lead after a Helder Nunes set-up (0-3, min. 25).

Saint-Omer come back, but Barça close out the game

Saint-Omer reached ten fouls after the break and Killian Gil took the free-hit but couldn't make it count. Saint-Omer then scored through ex-Barça man Marçal Cuenca, who scored a direct free-hit (3-1, min. 38).

Five minutes later, Barengo took advantage of a weak defensive position to take Saint-Omer to just one goal down and set up a tense finale (3-2, min 43). Pau Bargalló had the final say, however, scoring a great goal, creating breathing space to see out the game.

Thursday will see Barça face either Caldes or Benfica in the quarterfinal, having classified as group B winners.
