FC Barcelona men and women first-team players, Eric García and Jana Fernández, are the ambassadors for the ninth edition of the Barça Academy World Cup presented by Allianz, kicking off this coming Monday, April 11. This is the first time the competition has two patrons, and it is also the first time that players that came through Barça Escola Barcelona are currently playing for the Club’s men and women’s first teams.

This 2022 edition of the tournament gathers together Barça Academy teams from around the world, bringing over 1,150 boys and girls to the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper from April 11 to 14. 26 Barça Academy and Barça Academy Camps are participating, representing 15 different countries, who will all strive to win titles in the Under-8, Under-10, Under-12, and Under-14 categories.

Prior to first-team training, Eric García and Jana Fernández will attend the pre-presentation photograph session at 9.45am CEST on Saturday, April 9 at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper, an event exclusively for the print media.

Currently out through injury, Jana Fernández, will join the press conference from the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper press room that same day at 11.30h CEST, where she will outline her beginnings at Barça Escola Barcelona and her experience as a sportsperson during the 2014 edition.
