Biggest Barça Academy Cup Las Américas ever with over 600 athletes

The polo fields at Los Establos in Cap Cana (Dominican Republic) are to host the fourth consecutive edition of the Barça Academy Cup Las Américas, which gets bigger and bigger each year. For the 2019 edition more than 600 boys and girls aged 6 to 18 years will be competing from December 12 to 15, representing nine different countries and 16 Barça Academies and Barça Academy Camps from all over the American continent plus two guest teams travelling from Barça Escola Barcelona.
This fourth edition of the Barça Academy Cup Las Américas is once again being supported by Scotiabank, and nine is the biggest variety of competing nations yet, with sides from Canada, the United States (San Diego, Chicago, Columbus, Charlotte, Austin and Barça Academy PRO New York), Costa Rica, Mexico (Puebla), Colombia (Bogotá, Cali, Medellin), Brazil (Sao Paulo), Peru (Lima), the Dominican Republic and Barcelona.
It is also a record entry in terms of teams. From 54 last season there will now be 58 contesting the various categories, which for 7-a-side football include Initiation (born 2013-2012); Formation (2011-2010); Precompetition (2009-2008); Competition (2007-2006); and for 11-a-side there are tournaments for Cadete/U16 (2005-2004); and Juvenil/U18 (2003-2002-2001), where local teams Punta Cana FC and Cibao FC are also taking part.
As well as the sporting side of the Barça Academy Cup Las Américas there will be host of parallel activities going on at Los Establos, and also recreational activities on the beach to keep everyone entertained and being organized in conjunction with Scotiabank.
