2019-20 season to see four footballers and two basketball players promoted to the FC Barcelona youth structure

A total of six players that were playing for different teams at the Barça Escola Barcelona soccer school in the 2018/19 season have been selected to join official Barça youth teams from the coming season. There are four footballers and two basketball players that have impressed so much in the academy teams that they will be joining the La Masia structure from this September.

Three of the footballers are girls, namely Elena Vizuete, Abril Rius and Paula Domínguez, who will start training with the U14 team ahead of the 2019/20 season. Vizuete, born in 2010, was in her second year at Barça Escola, while Paula Domínguez (2009) is joining after just one year at the soccer school. Abril Rius (2009) started out on the road to La Masía at the Barça Escola Perfeccionament del Vallès, in the town of Viladecavalls, after which she joined the Barcelona school based on the fields next to the Miniestadi and will now be joining the Barça youth system at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

As for the boys, John Ovie Adams Silva (2012) is the lucky player who has been selected for the U10D team, after just one year playing at Barça Escola Barcelona.

The basketball section managed by Roberto Dueñas and Nacho Solozábal welcomes Biel Poblet (2008) to the Mini squad, after three years learning the game at Barça Escola. Poblet was actually part of the academy from the very day that it opened its doors for the first time. The Barça CBS Mini girls’ team will be joined by Clàudia Claramunt (2008), who has also been at Barça Escola for two seasons.

The harvest of players from Barça Escola Bàsqeuet could have been completed with a player of Danish origin, Oskar Skaaning (2008), who was already part of the FC Barcelona Mini team despite being a year younger than his team-mates. However, Oscar’s family are heading back home for work reasons, and the youngster will therefore not be staying on at the club
