The city of Calgary in Alberta, Canada will soon host the sixth FCBEscola in Canada. It is also the sixth FCBEScola owned by BCN Sports, following those already open in Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal. There are now more FCBEscolas open in Canada and the United States—six each—than on any other continent, a clear indicator of the strategic importance of North America in the FCBEscola project.
The academy, for children from 4-17 years of age, will bring the FC Barcelona methodology to Alberta's biggest city. The academy will be located at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT). Tryouts will be held before the academy opens in late April.
40 FCBEscolas on 6 continents
Beyond the 40 already open, there are also 180 camps and 50 clinics, all in some 50 countries and on every continent except Antarctica. Over 45,000 children take part.
Besides Calgary, there are academies opening soon in Nara, Japan and in Puebla, Mexico.
