The name change for FC Barcelona's official stores took effect this Thursday, from Barça Store to Barça Botiga. This decision fulfills an agreement approved by the Board of Directors on April 24 and is part of the Club's firm commitment to the promotion and advancement of the Catalan language.
The change in signage and image was already implemented today in the Estadi's flagship store and will gradually be extended to the rest of the official points of sale, both those managed directly by the Club and those operating under a license.
A network of 21 points of sale everywhere
FC Barcelona currently has 21 physical stores, in addition to its online store. Under direct management, the Club operates 15 establishments:
- Spotify Camp Nou
- Canaletes
- Passeig de Gràcia
- Madrid
- T4 Madrid-Barajas
- Centre Comercial Arenas
- Poble Espanyol
- Barça Store & Exhibition Sagrada Família
- Westfield La Maquinista
- Parc Central Tarragona
- Aeroport T1 Barcelona
- Aeroport T2 Barcelona
- La Roca Village
- Maremagnum
- Aeroport de Palma de Mallorca
These are joined by six other licensed stores, located in Palma de Mallorca, Salou, Platja d'Aro, Ronda Universitat de Barcelona, and the recent openings in Tbilisi and Malaga.
Of this network, 11 stores are located in Barcelona and 10 outside the city, consolidating the Club's presence both locally and internationally.
Another step in the promotion of Catalan
The change in name is also part of the Club's desire to strengthen the use of Catalan in all areas of its activities. In this regard, FC Barcelona recently joined the “Català per a Tothom: a cada barri, a cada escola, a cada feina” movement, promoted by Òmnium Cultural and dozens of organizations across the country.
Through this alliance, the Club reaffirms its role as a social and cultural leader, committed to universal access to Catalan and defending the founding values of Catalanism.
The new Barça Botiga image will therefore be another tool to highlight this commitment and make the Catalan language present in the Club's commercial and institutional experience.
