FC Barcelona closes the winter transfer window without signings and with two departures

The Club trusts in the competitiveness of its squads and the resources of La Masia, while Keira Walsh and Unai Hernández leave Barça to embark on new professional stages

FC Barcelona has concluded the winter transfer window without making any new additions to either the men's or women's first team. The Club has assessed that the current squads are highly competitive to face the challenges of the season while also relying on La Masia’s resources to provide support in case of sporting needs or potential injuries.

Regarding departures, two players have left during this transfer period. Keira Walsh, a midfielder for the women's first team, has been transferred to Chelsea FC in the English Women's Super League, while Unai Hernández, a Barça Atlètic player, has moved to the Saudi Pro League after his transfer to Al-Ittihad. Both Walsh and Hernández have made the decision to leave the Club in search of new career opportunities.

FC Barcelona remains committed to the training and development of young talents from La Masia, providing them with the best conditions to maximize their potential with the ultimate goal of reaching the first team. However, the Club respects the personal choices of each player and understands that some may decide to explore different paths to continue their professional growth at other clubs and competitions..

FC Barcelona thanks Keira Walsh and Unai Hernández for their professionalism and commitment during their time as Blaugrana and wishes them the best of luck in this new stage of their careers.

Additionally, FC Barcelona will receive additional revenue from the transfer of Nico González to Manchester City from FC Porto, as the Club retained economic rights over a future sale of the player.
